Date of the Buckhorn?

I have noticed the date for the Buckhorn as May 23rd this year.
That is a saturday. For the 30th, is tradition being broken? and it will be played on a saturday instead of a sunday? Or is that when the festivities begin? In the earlier years there was a big Buckhorn Eve party on saturday night - good food, good times and handicapping!! Then the Buckhorn was played on Sunday... and people had Memorial Day to recuperate before going back to work!
